βFor I am afraid that when I come I wonβt like what I find, and you wonβt like my response. I am afraid that I will find quarreling, jealousy, anger, selfishness, slander, gossip, arrogance, and disorderly behavior.β
If we pay attention to the current state of the world there is a lot of chaos, conflict, hostility and disputes. Many factors cause the things mentioned above to happen, one of the causes is jealousy. Jealousy is often the cause of tearing the harmony and unity of a community.
Because of jealousy, brothers can become enemies. Cain had the heart to kill his own brother (Abel) because of jealousy, where Abelβs offering was accepted by God, while his offering was not. Because other people are more successful at their jobs, someone becomes hot-tempered so he designs a crime to destroy it. People who work diligently in an office are branded as people sycophants to their leaders.
Thereβs verse says βFor where there is jealousy and selfishness, there is confusion and all kinds of evil deeds.β That is the reality that is happening and is hitting human life. It is not proper for Godβs people to be jealous of each other because that will only bring all kinds of evil deeds. Who would cheer for joy if humans were jealous of each other. Surely the devil.
We must realize that from any angle, envy does not bring good, on the contrary, it will only damage and destroy ourselves, as well as others. Are we still jealous?
